KUALA LUMPUR, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- Malaysian households may be able to employ Indonesian maids again by next month as Malaysia and Indonesia were discussing the matter, local media reported Monday.
The Indonesian government banned its maids from coming to Malaysia in June following several high-profile maid abuse cases.
Malaysian Human Resources Minister S. Subramaniam said that currently there were only a few more issues that need to be settled between the two countries, The Star reported.
Hoping to achieve a win-win situation, Subramaniam expressed his hope that the ban would be lifted by December.
It was learnt that Subramaniam had had a few talks with his Indonesian counterpart Erman Suparno, discussing the recruitment procedures and salary
