Our Indonesian maid is attempting to extort moeny from us. She has made a false police statement on 9th April saying that we slapped her. She is now with the agent and is asking for to months salary.
In fact, she owes us about RM1,000 as we paid for her surgery to remove a cancerous tumour in February. She also signed a statement that she agrees for her pay to be deducted to pay for the medical bill which was RM3500.
We also paid for the airfare for her to go back to Indonesia even though she has not fulfilled her contract.
The maid agency staff appear to be not taking any interest in hearing the employer's side of the story. Even attempts to speak to the maid agency boss is dificult apart from his agreement to meet us on Monday, a day before the maid is supposed to depart.
We are concerned that if we pay her what she demands, when she goes back to Indonesia, she may resort to extortion and make false allegations.
